“My madness is sacred, do not touch it.”
— Salvador Dali

Welcome! I’m Micaela (she/her). I am a writer, adventurer and full-time daydreamer.

My heart has and will always be in the woods, on the lake or running through the forests throughout Northern and Southern Ontario. Find me in my hammock on a sunny afternoon, daydreaming the afternoon away, catching words as they float across my mind and onto the page. When I’m not working on my latest project, you can find me outside. I’ll be the one running, swimming, canoeing, paddle boarding, rock climbing, cross country skiing or snowboarding. I am a lover of solitude, listener of podcasts and folk tunes, poem writer, people lover and storyteller.

I am a value driven, passionate and joyful person who is enthusiastic about life, learning, food, family, friends, embracing fear, courage, curiosity, community and vulnerability. I believe that there is power in first-hand experience and collective action, however big or small, sharing your experiences and learning from the diverse sources of knowledge that others hold. I am and will always be an advocate for being rooted in community, connection to place, the Earth and chasing what makes me feel the most alive.

I believe that everyday is an adventure and a new opportunity to reinvent yourself.

And so, off I go to do just that. Will you join me on this journey? I hope so.

All for now,

All my love,

Onward.

“I would rediscover the secret of great communications and great combustions. I would say storm. I would say river. I would say tornado. I would say leaf. I would say tree. I would be drenched by all rains, moistened by all dews. I would roll like frenetic blood on the slow current of the eyes of words turned into mad horses into fresh children into clots into vestiges of temples into precious stones remote enough to discourage miners.

Whoever would not understand me would not
understand
any better the roaring of a tiger.”
